Delete your account and data

MyMood has no user accounts and no server of its own: your diary lives on your phone and, if you turned on the backup, in your own Google Drive. This page explains how to delete all of it, with or without the app.

Step 2. Delete the data on your phone

With the app (instant, free for everyone)

1. Open MyMood and go to Settings.
2. Tap Delete account & all data and confirm.

This erases every entry with its note, emotions and tags, your list of activities and tags, every photo, the PIN code, your ads measurement choice and all settings on the phone, cancels the reminders, clears the home-screen widget, deletes the backup file and folder from your Google Drive, and removes the app's access to your Google account. The app then starts as if newly installed.

Without the app

Uninstalling MyMood deletes everything it stored on the phone: entries, notes, emotions, tags, photos, the PIN code and settings, and the home-screen widget goes with the app. MyMood keeps this data out of Android's device backup and phone-to-phone transfer, so reinstalling the app or moving to a new phone does not bring it back.

Step 3. Delete the backup in your Google Drive

If you ever turned on Backup to Google Drive, a copy of your entries, with their emotions and tags, is in your own Google Drive. Photos are never part of it. The developer cannot see or delete it for you, so remove it yourself:

1. Open drive.google.com (or the Google Drive app) with the Google account you used for the backup.
2. Find the folder MyMoodApp|Backups (it holds mymood-backup.txt) and delete it.
3. Empty the Drive trash, or the copy stays there for 30 days.
4. To remove the app's access to your Google account too, open myaccount.google.com/connections, choose MyMood and remove its access.

The in-app button in step 2 does all of this for you.

Step 4. Ask us to delete subscription and analytics records

Two services keep records about the app's use that are not on your phone: Apphud, which manages subscriptions for us (purchase history, device information, a random Apphud user ID), and Google Analytics for Firebase (usage events and random app identifiers, which our linked Google Ads account also uses to measure our ad campaigns). The app has no account, so these records are not linked to your name or email. To find yours, we need the order number of your subscription.

1. Email applarik@gmail.com with the subject MyMood data deletion.
2. If you ever subscribed or started a trial, include your Google Play order number. It starts with GPA. and is in the receipt email from Google Play, or in the Play Store app under profile picture → Payments & subscriptions → Budget & history. It is the only identifier you still have after uninstalling the app.
3. If you never subscribed, just send the email; we will delete what we can match and tell you what that was.

Response time: we reply within 7 business days and complete the deletion within 30 days, including the deletion request we pass to Apphud. We confirm by email when it is done.
